Ethiopia Bamboo Study Tour

Ethiopia Bamboo Study Tour

A full write-up of the study tour can be read here.

The three-day study tour, which is organised by INBAR and supported by the China-IFAD South-South and Triangular Cooperation Facility, is aimed at policy makers, development practitioners, entrepreneurs and civil society actors who are interested to deepen their knowledge of bamboo’s applications for sustainable development.

The tour is designed to facilitate technology transfer and leverage increased investment in bamboo sector development in all INBAR African members, and to share successful experiences and achievements in Ethiopia: a country whose bamboo sector is already very developed, and whose businesses produce everything from bamboo flooring and furniture to charcoal, toothpicks and incense sticks.

The study tour is expected to provide an excellent opportunity for promoting deeper interactions, exploring investment opportunities and forging prospective partnerships with diverse actors, including manufacturers, bamboo house designers, and bamboo exporting companies. It is intended for policymakers, development programme managers, civil society leaders, private sector entrepreneurs and smallholder farmers from Benin, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Togo, and Uganda.

Participants need to register to attend. More details about the tour, and how to apply, can be found here.
