Product standards and certifications are necessary to build and promote consumer confidence and reach the high-end market. Therefore, through the Dutch-Sino-East Africa Bamboo Development Programme – Phase II, INBAR is organizing a workshop on bamboo standards development from 18 and 19 October 2022 at the Ibis Styles Nairobi in Kenya.

Workshop objectives:

• Receive China’s experience of developing bamboo and rattan standards and scope for adoption in East African countries.
• Build capacity for the regional standards agencies to develop the bamboo standards.

Participants will be drawn from government agencies, organizations and the private sector involved in standards development in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda.
