自从乌干达政府在3月23日凌晨开始不允许任何人进出乌干达国家（COVID-19 疫情的影响而封国），民众待在家里不能随意出入家门，航空、公交等交通全部停运。作为一个外国人的我们只能服从当地的政策呆在家，过着天天数日子的心情特别难受，很多事根本无法去做，也浪费了我们的宝贵时间。我们每天去了解当地的疫情情况，到了5月中旬我们终于得到官方消息，局部开始解禁，私家车可以坐乘三人外出，这样在家一呆就是两个多月的时间。
Since the Ugandan government began to not allow anyone to enter or leave Uganda in the early morning of March 23 (the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic), people cannot enter and leave their homes at will. We as a foreigner, we can only obey the local policy to stay at home, felt very uncomfortable after few and days. There were many things we could not do at all, and we wasted our precious time. We to learn about the local epidemic situation every day, and at the end of May we finally learned that a private car can take three people to travel in the city.

5月20日，我们决定购买坎帕拉東部維多利亞湖旁附近有一片竹林地的竹子，电话通知竹林的老板，这位老板还不愿意卖竹子，他的竹子一直在培育小竹苗，认为卖给我们没有钱赚，经过我们讲述乌干达竹子的发展前景和竹子如何培育及管理，最后他答应与我们合作，卖给我们直径60毫米以上的竹子，数量2000根。

5月28日，竹子装车去默奇森，坎帕拉到默奇森的路程距离近500公里，再加上马辛迪到默奇森约150公里的路段在修路，货运卡车需要一个晚上才能到达目的地，我们的轿车也要行驶6个小时才能到达。

在整个乌干达国家里的主要公路上经常有警察设卡（大型铁钉毛刺），除了以上设卡之外还有人口密集的每个村庄和城市都设有减速带 (宽度有60厘米，高度在20厘米的水泥拱形状），或者多条减速带连体并排设置，到了这个位置每辆车都会很慢的速度行驶过去。除了首都坎帕拉有少量的红绿灯外，其他城市都没有红绿灯和摄像头以及收费站。乌干达原属于英国殖民国家，所以他们的司机开车的安全意识非常强，从不抢道和强行超车，车子拐弯时都会停车瞭望，辅道让主道。

从马辛迪到我们的竹林小镇所经过的国家森林公园（野生动物）一路都可以看到可爱的野生动物，如果穿过维多利亚尼罗河到对岸北部可以看到更多的大型野生动物。
默奇森瀑布

默奇森瀑布在世界最长的河流——尼罗河，从东非大裂谷悬崖的狭窄裂缝中奔涌而出，源头是世界第二大淡水湖——维多利亚湖，源源不断的注入在落差43米下滚滚而流的水池中。

我们这次采购到的竹子是热带高原的低地竹，它的直度相当差，每个竹节位置基本都是弯曲的。6月1日，我们就开始对竹子进行全面处理，由于当地条件有限只能用比较原始的方法，竹子的外表采用火烤方式进行碳化和调直矫正，液化气的消耗也很大。
The bamboo we purchased this time is a lowland bamboo from a tropical plateau. Its straightness is quite poor, and the position of each bamboo joint is basically curved. 在非洲，那里没有竹子加工技术的人才。这次到乌干达我派了一名技术娴熟的师傅，由他带领当地人进行边培训边生产，非洲人很好学，他们在很短的时间内掌握了一些基本要领，由于语言交流问题难免会有出错，他们还是很认真的学习。
There are no talents in bamboo processing technology in Africa. I sent a skilled master to Uganda this time. He led the locals to conduct training and production. Africans are willing to learn. They mastered it in a short time basic essentials, due to language communication problems inevitably there will be errors, they still study very seriously.
