This detailed design manual aims to help structural engineers and other architecture, engineering and construction professionals understand how bamboo, as a prolific bio-based material, can contribute to the low-carbon construction sector. The work draws on the expertise of four authors from academia and industry, all of whom are members of the INBAR Bamboo Construction Task Force.  This guide will ultimately play an essential role in promoting the application of the current ISO 22156:2021 standard, which has been the most widely accepted international bamboo standard since the 2000s.
