Product standards and certifications are necessary for building consumer confidence and reaching high-end markets. Maintaining quality standards is a problem for all the bamboo value-chains in beneficiary countries due to capacity limitations of national standard agencies, SMEs and industries. The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KBS) identified seven experts from different government agencies and the private sector to actualize this activity.
