This study conducts a literature review to gain a better understanding of the effects on biodiversity of the expansion of bamboo product development and trade in China. In particular, it focuses on changes in the bamboo product supply chain in China, including changes in bamboo forest areas, bamboo management practices, product development and trade of bamboo products. Further analysis is offered on the effects of these changes on socio-economic and environmental aspects, particularly biodiversity.
