The current study, titled “Value Chain Analysis of Bamboo in Pakistan,” was planned by INBAR to comprehensively analyze the existing bamboo value chain and evaluate its prospects for development in Pakistan. Aspects covered in the study include the bamboo resource base; the geographical spread of bamboo production; production and management practices; the species grown; the working of the value chain; the actors involved and their roles and influence in the chain; current uses of bamboo and its products; global and local market analysis; trade, both local and international; and the role of bamboo in poverty alleviation, the economic well-being of rural communities, and the economic development of the country.
