This report presents the results of a joint collaborative effort between the International Centre for Bamboo and Rattan (ICBR) and the Dutch-Sino East Africa Bamboo Development Programme (Phase-II) on testing the age-wise properties, machine, and product compatibility of Ethiopian highland (Oldeania alpina) and lowland (Oxytenanthera abyssinica) bamboo species. Although the report focuses on Ethiopian bamboo species, it has significant value and potential for replication in other African countries. The outcomes of the report can assist upcoming bamboo industries in establishing high-end bamboo products.
