Led by the UN Environment Programme and the FAO, the UN Decade is building a strong, broad-based global movement to ramp up restoration and put the world on track for a sustainable future. That will include building political momentum for restoration as well as thousands of initiatives on the ground. |

| Beyond these formal partnerships, INBAR holds Observer status with the UN General Assembly (UNGA), UNCTAD, UNFCCC, the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD). INBAR also regularly attends annual Conference of the Parties (COPs) at relevant Conventions and meetings to represent its Member States in promoting the importance of bamboo and rattan.
INBAR also works with a number of other UN bodies, including the UN Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC), the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF), the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC), the UN Development Programme (UNDP), UN-Habitat, the Mountain Partnership (MP) and the Global Partnership on Plastic Pollution and Marine Litter (GPML). |

| INBAR, headquartered in China, holds an MoU with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) to jointly advance the Belt and Road Initiative and green industrial development. INBAR signed an MoU with the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), prioritizing germplasm resource conservation and bamboo-related technological innovation. INBAR has also established strategic partnerships with the International Centre for Bamboo and Rattan (ICBR), the Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF) and other leading forestry universities. It has also expanded coordination mechanisms with provincial and municipal governments, national-level industry associations and flagship enterprises. |

| Key partners and donors to INBAR’s projects on land restoration, livelihood improvements, climate change mitigation and more include the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Netherlands, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), the Global Environment Facility (GEF), the European Union (EU) and the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA). IFAD is a long-standing donor to INBAR’s rural poverty alleviation work, in addition to the formal partnership agreement listed above.
